 Lauren Pelon will be at the Ladysmith Library on February 10th at 7:oo p.m. Under the title, “Music from the Backyard & Front Porch,” Lauren Pelon will perform on approximately twenty ancient and modern wind, string and free-reed instruments, and voice. Free and open to the public. Supported by the Wisconsin Humanities Council.

Flambeau Valley Arts Event -  As ensemble-in-residence at the UW Madison School of Music, the quintet has established a tradition of artistic and teaching excellence.  NYTimes critic Peter Davis, in reviewing the ensemble's Carnegie Hall concert, stated "The performances were consistently sophisticated, sensitive, and thoroughly vital."  7:30 p.m. Ladysmith High School Auditorium. $15/adult, $3/student.

 The 1st Annual Ladysmith Lions Ice Fishing Contest to be held on the Dairyland Reservoir.  Over $11,000 in cash and prizes.  Large fish category winners and over 100 raffle prizes.  Tickets available at area businesses.  

Flambeau Valley Arts Event - The Stoughton Norwegian Dancers is a group made up of Stoughton High School students who perform various, authentic Scandinavian dances.  The group began in 1953, performing for their home community at Syttende Mai (Norwegian Independence Day).  Today, they share their talents all across the United States, entertaining young and old and leaving all with a warm appreciating for their Norwegian heritage.  2:00 p.m. LHS Auditorium, $15/Adult, $3/student.

Flambeau Valley Arts Event - In the early 1930's, the now legendary Bob Wills created what he called a "Texas fiddle band."  It featured him and others on fiddles in addition to just about any other instrument.  Sabien, a jazz violinist, has tapped into that tradition by including three fiddles in his Fiddlehead Band, featuring drums, bass, guitar, and keyboard rhythm section.  With the advantage of 80 years of musical history to draw upon, Sabien describes his sound as "Bob Wills meets Art Blakey (be-bop) meets the Allman Brothers (blues rock)."   7:30 p.m. LHS Auditorium, $15/Adult, $3/student.
