Visitors Center

Your first stop in Rusk County should be the Rusk County Visitors Center, located at 205 W. 9th Street South (State Highway 27, two blocks south of Hwy 8). The Visitors Center is located in a replica Soo Line train depot. Inside, you’ll find complete information on Rusk County activities and attractions, as well as exhibits and displays related to Rusk County’s history as an important center for logging and railroads. Adjacent to the Visitors Center, you’ll find a Soo Line engine, caboose and vintage rail cars.

Business hours are:

  • Monday-Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (closed on Saturdays, Jan-April)

After business hours, you’ll find some information in a literature case on the outside of the building.
